Prof. Debbaut holds a 100% professorship at the Biommeda research group within Ghent University and focuses mainly on the use of computational biofluid mechanics as a tool for personalized medicine by studying applications related to organ perfusion, mass transport phenomena in the context of targeted and locoregional drug delivery, and lymph flow.

Ward De Spiegelaere is assistant professor at the Department of Morphology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. His main focus is angiogenesis in wound healing, cancer and tissue engineering.

Filip Van Nieuwerburgh heads the UGent Next Generation Sequencing core facility NXTGNT, focusing on transcriptomics, (epi)genomics and bioinformatics.

Ruslan Dmitriev leads the Tissue Engineering and Biomaterials group at the Department of Human Structure and Repair, Ghent University.

Patrick Segers is full-time senior professor of cardiovascular biofluid mechanics at the Ghent University, Belgium. He is the head of Biofluids, Tissue and Solid Mechanics for Medical Applications (bioMMeda) and chair of the MSc in biomedical engineering programme.

Prof. Dr. Sandra Van Vlierberghe holds a guest professorship at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Brussels Photonics, VUB, Belgium) and a 100% professorship (BOF-ZAP) at Ghent University (Polymer Chemistry & Biomaterials Group, Belgium).
