Phillip Blondeel is full Professor of Plastic Surgery at the Ghent University, Belgium. He is the head of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and at the Burn Center of the Ghent University Hospital.

Catharina De Schauwer set up a state-of-the-art laboratory focusing on the isolation, characterization, differentiation and cryopreservation of mesenchymal stem cells, isolated from different sources (including bone marrow, adipose tissue, peripheral blood, umbilical cord blood and Wharton’s jelly) and in different species (including horse, dog and cow).
